Dartmoor based performer Ella Edmondson has been nominated for Best Breakthrough Artist in this year’s UK Festival Awards. Voting for the award began 23rd September online at www.festivalawards.com, with the winner being announced on Thursday 19th November.
The Best Breakthrough Artist category contains some strong competition. Ella will be up against chart topping artists; Lady Gaga, Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Le Roux and Little Boots.
Ella, the eldest daughter of comedians Jennifer Saunders and Adrian Edmondson, performed at IVYLIVE* 2009 earlier this month; has been recognised for her engaging performances across the UK during the festival season.
Ella was one of the stand out performers at IVYLIVE 2009, performing to a crowd of over 3000 people. It is expected she will perform again at IVYLIVE 2010 amongst an increasingly acclaimed line up, and to larger crowds as the local music festival’s popularity continues to grow.
The IVYLIVE festival grew significantly this year with the help of design agency Brighter Creative. The agency designed the festival website which contains information on Ella and her music and can be visited at www.ivylive.co.uk. Brighter Creative also had an integral role in the marketing of the festival, which contributed significantly to getting over 3000 festival goers to IVYLIVE.
Ella is currently touring with her debut album 'Hold your horses’ which was produced by Andy Seward and has been released on her own record label Monsoon music, with her dad and manager 'Ade' Edmondson.
