Thankfully, James walked away unscathed and the shots fired were all in the name of team building, at a South West War Games combat simulation day at the village, just outside Plymouth in Devon.
Sam and James were fortunate enough to win a prize draw at the recent Business South West Show and were kindly invited by South West War Games to partake in the complimentary event to learn the art of Airsoft Combat.
Airsoft weapons fire 6mm plastic pellets at speeds of 500 feet per second, fast enough to feel but not to cause too much damage. The resulting effect creates realistic combat scenarios without the risk of serious injury.
Sam and James learned how to storm buildings, clear rooms and rush a target under the cover of friendly fire; all with the help of fake (but very loud) grenades and smoke bombs.
South West War Games, run by an ex-marine and specialist in Military Tactics, specialise in creating Combat Situations with a twist on building teams.
Our Creative Director Sam said “Firstly, I was amazed at how much fun Airsoft was. Once I’d got over the novelty of being Rambo, I realised that there were some really good business lessons to be learned from what we were doing. Communicating and being really clear with instructions made the difference between success and failure on the battlefield”.

Cathy has been known to roll a Reliant Robin in to a ditch and walk away unscathed.
Cathy spends too much time dreaming about clothes shopping, being pampered and eating nice food.
